Community Pastor

John Mueller

was born and raised in California and moved to the midwest in 2006. I asked Jesus into my heart at a young age but didn’t fully understand until much later when I was 17 and had multiple traumatic life events in a short time span. My life was changed when I read through the entire New Testament in a weekend seeking the truth. Jesus Christ is real, he really died for me, but even better he rose again to new life, and I could have the new life.

I got more involved in youth group and soon after I turned 18 started as a youth pastor at a church plant. During my first few years of college, I continued to serve in ministry. It was then that I realized God was calling me to ministry.

So after lots of prayer and trying to understand what that meant, I moved to Winona Lake, Indiana. I started to pursue a Masters of Divinity, at Grace Theological Seminary, while serving at Christ Covenant Church as the Youth Coordinator.

Soon after I graduated I met my wife and got married. I was working in social work in Indiana and then Illinois when I was called to SonLight Community Church, in Angola, Indiana as their Discipleship Pastor. During my 10 years there I became the Family Pastor and then the Lead Pastor. My wife and I have four children, Annaliese, Zachariah, Jocelyn, and Hazaiah. In 2022 I came to Brookside Church becoming the Community Pastor.
